Speaker Turzai Issues Statement on the Passing of Chief Deputy Attorney General Laura Ditka
HARRISBURG – House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) released the following statement on the passing of Chief Deputy Attorney General Laura Ditka:

“Laura was a dear friend. Like so many others, my wife, Lidia, and I are so saddened… so crushed really… by her passing. She was just a fun, loving, joyous person, a great mom and a friend and confidante to many. She enjoyed every moment of her too short life.

“Laura and I were assistant district attorneys together in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office. We came up the ranks together, learning much as we took on new responsibilities. Laura, of course, became one of the top prosecutors in Pennsylvania -- always prepared, always fair, always protective of victims and always respectful. She was a pillar of integrity. (She would have made a great judge by the way.)

“Lidia and I will miss seeing her – and her smile – at school plays, at ballfields, at church and at local restaurants. To her daughter, Chloe, and her entire family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.”
