Veterans Assistance Available in Speaker Turzai’s McCandless Office
5/5/2016
McCANDLESS – House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) is inviting area veterans to attend monthly assistance hours at his district office in McCandless. Every third Friday, beginning Friday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Larry Michaelis, department service officer with the American Legion, is available to assist veterans and their families in the 28th District.

“Through this outreach, we are able to provide some direct links between our veterans and the services and programs available to them,” said Turzai. “It is my goal to assist our veterans by connecting them to the many resources they can utilize to improve their lives.”

Michaelis assists veterans with compensation, pensions, death benefits, education, health care issues and more. Veterans do not have to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services. Walk-ins are welcome, but advanced scheduling is encouraged.

For more information about monthly assistance hours, or any other state-related issue, contact Turzai’s district office in McCandless at 125 Hillvue Lane, first floor, or by calling 412-369-2230. Information can also be found online at RepTurzai.com or Facebook.com/RepTurzai.
