Pearce Mill Road Slide Repair Begins Monday in Pine
Long-term Closure Necessary 

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a $2.4 million project to repair a slide on Route 4063 (Pearce Mill Road) in Pine Township, Allegheny County, will be begin on Monday, July 11.  

The project includes repairing and reinforcing the slope and reconstructing the roadway in the area of a slide that occurred earlier this year on Pearce Mill Road between Route 910 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike overpass.  

To allow the work to occur, Pearce Mill Road will be closed to thru-traffic long-term beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday continuously through late November 2011. The roadway will remain open to the slide area for local traffic only. Traffic will be detoured using Route 910 east to Babcock Boulevard (Route 4031), north to Bakerstown-Warrendale Road (Route 4068) continuing west back to Pearce Mill Road. About 2,740 vehicles use this area of Pearce Mill Road on an average day.  

The contractor performing the work is Joseph B. Fay of Russellton, PA.     

PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
